We’re Still Here For You
In the midst of COVID-19, KCC is still here for you. We’ve created something very special that will allow us to remain connected with your children as we continue to inspire them to love learning, embrace culture, and live mindfully. Scroll to learn more.
2021 ONLINE FORMAT
Due to COVID-19, all in-person camps for 2021 have been cancelled. KCC’s same phenomenal teachers will lead our online cultural camp sessions. We’ve transformed our signature-style handcrafted curriculum into a digital format for the 2021 online camp season. Campers will embark on an engaging and interactive online journey as they explore Papua New Guinea (spring), Australia, Madagascar, Fiji, and Cape Verde (summer).

The sessions will meet via Zoom and campers will have two 45-minute cultural lessons and one 45-minute specialty lesson per day, with 15-minute breaks between each lesson. The specialty lessons include yoga, chess, storytelling, and cooking. Participants will receive a Family Resource Packet via email which includes an overview of the topics covered daily, handouts, maps, a short list of supplies to have on hand, recipes for each cooking class, and activities that you may complete as a family outside of camp.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Policies
NEEDED DEVICES. A computer or other mobile device is needed in order to access Zoom. Ipads, tablets, or cell phones may also be used. If you have more than one child enrolled and they are in different age groups, each child will need access to his or her own device. Computers or Ipads are recommended. Cell phones limit the child’s ability to see the screen and fully interact with the teachers.
SIBLINGS IN THE SAME AGE GROUP. Siblings in the same age group may share devices. There is only one registration fee for siblings in the same age group. Please email info@kidsandculture.com to obtain this discount.
SNACKS. There will be a 15-minute snack break from 10:00-10:15 AM. Please have your child’s snack prepared ahead of time. The teachers will instruct the campers to take a bathroom break, wash their hands, and grab their snack.
SPECIALTY LESSONS. Monday-Thursday (spring) and Monday-Wednesday (summer), the children will experience specialty classes such as yoga, chess, storytelling, and art. On Fridays (spring) and Thursdays (summer), the campers will learn how to make a traditional dish from the country of focus. Recipes will be included in the Family Resource Packet and we encourage parents to participate in this portion with their camper. If you are unable to participate, the demonstration will be engaging and your camper will enjoy watching. Parents can cook and explore with their children at a later time.
QUIET BACKGROUND. In order to ensure that each camper will be able to hear and participate fully, we ask that parents do your best to limit any background noise. We recommend finding a quiet place to set-up for your camper’s sessions. If you have reliable headphones or earbuds with a microphone, this is also recommended to reduce potential background noise.
RECORDINGS & DRESS. Each session will be recorded. Please be mindful of the camera, your dress, your child’s dress, and any language or sound that may be picked up by the camera. We always stress modest dress. If your children have attended KCC in the past, we encourage them to wear their camp shirts during class.
If your child misses a class, we will make every effort to email the recording within 24-hours. The videos usually require some editing so please be patient with our team.
