Kids & Culture’s Founder and Executive Director, Jania Otey, presented at The Liberated Minds Black Homeschool & Education Virtual Expo on June 28, 2020. Jania’s topic was “Protecting Your Business and Your Babies.” She provided a 90-minute presentation on common mistakes business owners make and also important factors parents should consider before enrolling their children in enrichment programs. Jania’s insight as an attorney, business owner, and homeschooling mom of two boys, was appreciated by all who attended her session. The conference opened up with a dynamic keynote address from Susan L. Taylor, former editor of Essence Magazine. The Mamas of KCC have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of education. It’s no surprise that several other KCC co-founders and team members were also presenters at this extraordinary conference. Mama Jessica Silva, Mama Adirah Aishet-Tsalmiel, and Mama Kyna Clemons conducted masters classes on various topics related to education. Each presenter shared information related to homeschooling, culture, and art. Mama Jawana Msola, another fabulous, KCC teacher also provided enrichment activities for children attending the Watoto Village program during the conference. It was an action-packed weekend full of valuable information and resources to help parents educate our precious children.
